Regiment: 14th Michigan Infantry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Hd Qrs Co H 14th Mich Vols Inf Camp Stone River Nov. 28th 1862   Charges and Specifications against Private John McCarty Co H 14th Mich Vols Inf.   Charge 1st Unsoldierly Conduct.   Specification 1st In this that the said Private John McCarty Co H 14th Mich Vols Inf. has on two (2) different occasions left Camp and gone to Nashville without leave. There by absenting himself from drill.   Charge 2nd Unsoldierly Conduct   Specifications 2nd In this that the said Private John McCarty Co H 14th Mich Vols. Inf. did on the morning of Nov. 28 1862. When requested by his orderly Sergt. to go on Guard, use pro- fane language to his Sergt. in the following words that he would be d—d if he would stand Guard for any man.   All this at Camp Stone River Nov. 28th 1862   Witness Sergt. Alex. Witherspoon Co H   To Which Charges and Specifications the prisoner plead guilty. The Court therefore sentences the prisoner to forfeit one half months pay, from the next payment A M Beebe Capt & Provost 14 Mich Reg   Finding & Sentence approved The Pay will be stopped on the next muster & Pay Roll.
