It is agreed, and is part of the consideration of this contract, that THE ADAMS EXPRESS COMPANY, are not to be responsible, except as forwarders, for any loss or damage arising from the dangers of Railroad, Ocean, Steam or River Navigation, Fire, the acts of God or of the enemies of the Government, the restraint of governments, mobs, riots, insurrections, pirates, or from any of the dangers incident to a time of war, unless Specially Insured by Them and to specified in this receipt.
