The Michigan Civil War Collection is a compendium of letters, diaries, muster rolls, pay rolls, etc. that have been preserved, digitized, transcribed, and uploaded to this website. These documents are from Michigan Infantries and Cavalries; Wisconsin and Indiana Iron Brigades; President Abraham Lincoln; Generals George A. Custer, William T. Sherman, and George B. McClellan; and various other generals, politicians, and state regiments. The collection also includes medals, ribbons, photographs, dried foliage, bullets, cannon fuses, and much more. The collection is continuously growing and more documents are being transcribed, so this website will be constantly changing as more material is uploaded. Keep checking back! About the Archivist

Lori Stricker received an Associates of Arts degree from Jackson Community College in Jackson, Michigan in 2005. She then went to Michigan State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology with a specialization in Museum Studies in 2009. From 2009 to 2012, Lori was employed at the Michigan State University Museum as a Cultural Collections Assistant. In the summer of 2011, she began working as the archivist on the Michigan Civil War Collection for the collectors Tom and Rutger Breakey. She received a Master of Library and Information Science with a specialization in Museums and Archives from Kent State University in 2014. Lori continues to work on the Michigan Civil War Collection by preserving, digitizing, transcribing, and uploading the documents to this website.
