Dear Father
I received your letter of the
13 and was glad to here that you had
got back from N.Y. and that you got your
Pork back that you sent to Thorpe & Co I
think you was lucky in getting it back
it would of bean a heavy loss for you & Smith
I bet Smith did not sleep much while you
were away. I supose you are selling all the
Plaster you can get Mother sayed in her
letter that the Mill had to stop two or three
days because they were oute of rock I ame
afraid that you did not get plaster enough
down last fall. I supose you have got all through
packing Pork I hope you will make as much
as you did last year. we are having very warm
weather here now it makes me sweat to drill
we drill one oure in the morning and one in
afternoon the rest of the time we have to study
and get our lesson we have school one oure every
night when we go to the Col Quarters and he
passes the segars
at around and we have a ood
time generly. the Col put me in Comand of
Co I the officers are all sick I dont now how
long it will last but I hope it wont last long
I would sooner be with my own Co. it looks
as though we were going to have a storm let it
come we have got good Quarters and let it rain.
Jack Bigler is very sick he will die before morning
he has bean sick for a week you Can tell J. Morris
that he is very sick. I supose Lt Henry has bean
to see you he can tell you more than I can write
we get along without him very well he did
not doe any duty for 40 Days at one time
he went of owing a goodeal of mony in the
Co. I bought a saber and a dress Coat of
Capt Colby and turned his acount over to him
the Check that dan Pierce sent to you. You
can keep I think we will get paid off before
long and if we doe it will save me the troble
of sending home the mony this is all I have
time to write to night hoping this will
find you all well. give my love to all
