About the Author
Private Andrew B. Coffinberry, of Grand Rapids, Michigan enlisted at the age of 20 in the 1st Michigan Engineers Company E on December 6, 1861 in Marshall, Michigan. He was mustered into service that same day. Coffinberry received several promotions including: 1st Sergeant, March 4, 1862; Sergeant Major, August 1; 1st Lieutenant, January 1, 1864; Assistant Inspector General, April 15; and, Captain, October 17. He was discharged on September 22, 1865 in Nashville, Tennessee. Andrew B. Coffinberry lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan after the war.Documents for this Author:
