Regiment: 1st Michigan Engineers Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Mansfield Ohio Nov 23. 1861 Dear Sister Becky: I commenced writing to you last Sunday, but was stopped, and now have only time for a few lines. I left L— last Monday. Charley & I went to Bellefontaine and had a bully old time till Thursday when, he left and I tried to but the train broke down and I had to wait till yesterday, and got here last night about ten oclock raised uncle Joshua out of bed and spent the night there. I have lost my trunk and all my things and will wait here until Tuesday or Wednesday to hunt it up. We had a wedding at Bellefontaine, was head over heals there and couldnit write and have notime now. I never saw them better, livelier, or in as good circumstances. I have been no place here by Joshuas and at the Bank where I am now writing. I will be home soon and talk more than I can write. I must get my trunk first. and hurry to Marshall. I am afraid I will not be there in time. The friends all send their love I am well and send mine, no more now AB Coffinberry I expected to get a letter here from Father but have not yet.
