Nashville Tennessee July 13 Dear Wife As I was writing to Abby I thought I would like to writ a few lines to you to let you know that am Still Well and I assure you that I wash much obliged to Abby for writing to me You must Must give her my Sincere thanks for I always like to hear from home Some times when I am lonesom it makes a man feel as if hee had some one to care for him

Beaufort South Carolina March the 12th 1862 Dear Wife I received Abys letter the 10th and haston to answer it I hav lookt fore a letter from yhou a good while and 11 am sorey that you was so slack in riting to me but I will excuse you all this time I am well at presant and I hope these few liens will finde you all well the Babys and all I would of sent you some Money Before But as frend Denton expected to com home soner than he did I thought that it would Bee safer to send it with him

Beaufort South Carolina January the 10th 1862 Dear Wife I received you very welcomd letter the 7th and it found me well at the time with the eckseption of my Neck that is most well now it is all most heald up we ar at the same place that whe campt the next day after the Battle But I think that we will March for some Place and I cant tell whare

January the 4th 1862 Beaufort South Carolina Deare Wife I now take me pen in hand to inform you that I am well at presant and I hope that thies few Iinse will find you the same this is the forth letter that I hav ritten to you the first that I rote to you I sent the 11 of November and I enclosed 15 Dollars in it fore you and I want you to rite and let me know weather you hav received it or not yet

Beaufort Dec 14th 1861 Dear Wife Not having received any letter from you for a long time I thought I would write to you once more to let you know how we was getting along. I sent you a letter the Seventh of November with fifteen dollars in it and am quite anxious to know wether you have received it or not

Co E Michigan Volunteers November the 7th 1861 Dear Wife The fort is taken But he havnt landid yet we ar on the sterner VanderBuilt yet and we hav just urn the Stars an Stnpes up on the Reabels fort and we ar a going to land the troops this after noon yet But we think thay hav a rod in Soak fore us yet here is my respects I here enclose $15 Dollars in this fore you
