Regiment: 23rd Michigan Infantry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: 1862 You wrote that you wanted me to wash often and comb my head I do that thing when I get ready to start of for the armey Mrs. gidley gave me a nice towel all folded up nice I did not want to take it but she would not take no for an answar When I went to use it I found a very nice comb in it and I wrote a letter to her and thanked her very much for it so I am all right on the louse problem? you need not fear for me for I shall come home to you again and that before many moths to it is getting time for me to go on guard and I must close for this time bu I will write again soon give my live to all your folks and mine and all the rest of the folks now good by from George Van direct your letters the same as before and they will be sent to the rigment they will followe that wharever it goes
