Regiment: 7th Michigan Cavalry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Sunday Morning April 5th Easter Sunday. It is Souther Sunday to me. I suppose you will consume the eggs and maple molasses. The snow is a foot deep this morning and still it comes. This is horrible, for the sunny South. The old bach that has allways lived in the home says that he never saw the like before, They lay it all to the war out here, The man and his brother that live here. Used to have 40 niggers; they have one now; The old bach is saying that his father has whipped him more than he ever whipped his niggers. You must not think any body can go as thy do in Paris, for there is picket guards evry mile or two, and you cant get out without a pass from their General in Camp I hear it reported that a call is made for 300,000 more men, I think they will have fun in enforcing the conscription Eggs are 40 cts I can get a good meal here in this house for 50 cts. but I guess I will go down to the camp, and eat, I drawed Fresh beef, bread ham +c., sugar coffee, rice. [  ?  ] potatoes, Tea, Cornmeal +c. if we had a good ham to cook in, we would be all right. we have a spendid cook stove, Dr. Sherman has been unwell for a few days past is better this morning Dr Upjohn stands it better than any man in the Regt. I will dry up and go to breakfast. I shall stay in hour to day after I get back from camp. Good morning, Write soon Tell me what kind of weather you have to day Bud
