Regiment: 2nd Michigan Cavalry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Cleveland, Tenn April 19, 1864 Dear Friend I will take the present opportunity to write you a few lines. I received your letter about a week ago and it found me well and I hope that these few lines will find you the same. It has been a long time since I had heard from you and I had almost given up looking for one. I began to think that you had forgotten me but I thought that if you had forgotten that you couldn’t forget the circus but I am glad that you haven’t. I received yours and read it with much pleasure. I should like to hear from you often than what I do. You said that I had ought to be there to eat warm sugar but you would eat all for me that you can and that was as good offer for any one. I think that I will be home by another Spring if I can keep my health. I am driving a team at the Brigade Headquarters. I have it very good times now for a soldier and we don’t have much to do now. Some of the boys will be home soon for they left here about a week ago. No more at present and please to accept with my best wishes and dear friend please to write soon and oblige your true friend, Ithmar Rosegrant
