Regiment: 8th Michigan Cavalry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Camp Stocton Jan 24/63 Absent Sister I will write a few lines to you to let you know that we are well at present and hope you the same we have had a muddy time of it since we have been here there has been about one weeks but its about gone again there is about seven hundred in our Regiment now they say we will twenty five dollars of our Goverm nt bounty next week I have written a letter to Uncle Lymans Sowles and one to home since I have been here but I hae not received any answer yet the health of the Camp is good they commenced building quarters for the officers this morning I can not twll when I shal get a chance to come home I can not think of much to write Write as you get this Direct your letters to Camp Stocton, Mt Clemens Michigan in care of Captain Buck From your Brother Robert
