Camp Stocton Feb 14th/63
Dear Sister I received
your letter this morning
and was glad to hear that
you ware all well I have
been pretty sick for a few
days back yesterday I was up
most of the time I wrote to
Louisa but it tired me a good
deal to day I geel a good deal
better I have wrote two letters to you
before this one but yo did not
say as you had got but one of them
I like to forgot to tell you that
Erastus was well you wanted to
know how Erastus likes to be put
on guard in a drunkards place
he likes it well enough for it
saves his going on his next time
we go on guard at nine oclock
in the morning Stand two
hours then off four and then
two on they keep chaning
that way til nine oclock
the next morning
when
when it was the coldest
we did not have to stand
out but one our to a time
we have had about ten days
Sleighing here night
before last one of the
guards was knocked down
by two men and robed of
thirty dollars they have got
two men shut up for trial
that they tink done it
as to our comeing home
we may be home in a week
and if we can get a furlough
when the next squad goes if
we dont it will be likely to be
three weks before we shal
come home but I feel
pretty sure of getting one
the next squad we may
not
[ ? ] come get a chance
to come to gather but I guess
we will if we start on the
morning we will get to
Battle Creek on the after noon
mail train if we start in
the evening we will get
there on the night train
no more at present
write soon as you get this
