How do I like
be a horseman, weill I like
it well as far as I have been
why, because that why. I like this
kind of fun Ed, we sleep in
our beds nights of course we stayd
in the City 3 days & 2 nights
when we first came but now
we are staying up here you
know where don’t you. on the
the fair ground 2 miles from
the City there was 19 of our boys
went out on guard this morning
to stay all day and night,
Wing Agnew & Horatio McKee
was the only boys that you know
it will be my turn next I
suppose I dont care though it
is fun I wish you was here
what two boys have enlisted
since we came away our Captain
said there was two coming this
week, we stay on the Ground
where the old Regiment stayed
how do I like Grand Rappids
I like it well it is a pleasant
place. We went around by Detroit
that’s so we stay there about an
hour I guess we dident have
much time to look around.
you said the Colnel was lonesome
I believe it is lonesome down
there, I am glad Charley Burt
is going to work for father

Dave says he did leave his
shirt in marshall the boys are
all well now some of us have
been sick but we are all right
now. I tore off part of this sheet
to write a pass to go down to
the City last night, our horses
will be here to day for our
Company, our hats & blankets are
here & our boots to. Ed ask our
folk why they dont write to
me I wrote a letter to them
last week tuesday and have
not recieved any answer, is our
folks will tell our folks I want
a towel when I get home. We
will leave here in about 2 weeks
yes I often think of the Girls
I left behind me, is E.G.C. a
coming & Hank Churchill they
said they was wing is coming
home this week, Frank Hooker
went home yesterday. I will be home
to the fair I think give my love
to all of the girls & to all enquiring
