Regiment: 2nd Michigan Cavalry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Marshall Oct 5/63 Mr Potter I have heard this morning that qm had not heard from Charley and as I have heard a letter [  ?  ] writen by one in his regiment I hasten to say to qm that Charley was in the Battle but was not hurt. His clothes were shot though but the leter says he is safe with the others. Some six were wounded but 0 in his company but I believe non killed Yours JDW [back of letter illegible]
