Regiment: 3rd Michigan Cavalry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Oct 4th 1863 Dear Sister as I have not wrote in some time I thought I would write a few times to let you know how I get along down south the boys are all well and most all of them Love gone out on a five days scout but I thought I would not go this time for I just came in from guard our company has been out to guard a Correlle two miles from here and was orderd in to go on a scout and Mitchell wanted me to tell you that he did not have time to write this time but he would as soon as he got back Jane there is no news to write for I want you to kiss little Trudy for me but I [ ? ] she gets enough kisses every day you must take good care of let ring until I get home I have wrote once since you have but I thought I would write again and see if you got this leter there is but litle use of writing if the you do not get them but I think it will not be a great while before we will not have to write for there is some hopes of whiping the the south yet for they are all most played out now I wrote to mother to send me a pair of gloves by Pary Harvy and I think they will come prety good for it is some cold here now
