Dear Brother & Sister
Your long looked for letter has at last arrived had almost given up ever
receiving another letter from you We are in the same Camp near Culpeper Our duty
is picketing and
[ ? ] which is not very heavy picket duty is the worst for the
weather has been so bad it has rained or snowed every day for most two weeks
today is the first nice warm day Hope alzeria will soon be well also Effie Here is
a piece of poetry on a Babe Oh happy husband! happy wife! The rarest blessing
heaven drops down The Sweetest blossom in Spring’s crown Starts in the furrows
of you life
A babe is a rare blessing And something every farther
is proud off
I hope Franks will make you a visit I shall try and persuade her to
do so for Indiana does not agree with her. She has been troubled with sore eyes now
a long time. George has enlisted in the 4th Regulars
[ ? ] I think I don’t think Geo.

trial of it Mother has bought the next lot to us so She has both you remember they
lay something like this
It will make a good comfort able home for Mother We are to have Dress
