Dear Friend Kate
I received your
letter bearding date April 10th
and was glad to hear from you
but was surprised to hear that
you thought that I was mad at
you when I had never thought
of the thing and if you havnt
received letters from me it is not
my falt for I have wrote more
than I have ever received but
there is something on that end
of the road that has someth
ing to do with my letters
but let them work if I live
I am coming home next fall
and I will make a road
that wont stop all the letters
that chance to be sent over
them Catharine did you
mean as you wrote in that
letter that unles you got an
answer you would neve write
to me a gane if I ever get
so that I dont want to hear
from you, I will let you know
and I hope that you will do the
same I have heard some prety
bit stories and ocasionly get a
letter that has some in and
the one that write does never

several of that sort I received a
letter from Olive the other
day it has been some time
since I have had any from
Sarah I had one just before
our rade to Richmond
I didnt see but one good lookin

was at Williamsburg and she
was siting in the window of a
nice house the house was as nice as
