Dear Julia
I have written
to you once since I heard from
you but thought that I would write
again not knowing when I should
hear from you but hope it
will be before you receive this
I received one from Mary night
before last but she did not
write how my family were not
in particular but said the
folks were all well I would
like to her very much.
When I received that from Mary
it was it was written on the
envelope (in haste) I thought before
I opened it that you had got some
one to write for you for it was a
different hand writing on the envelope
from yours but I was disappointed
but hope that I may get one this
evening
but I am a going to keep up
courage and hope for the best
but I am very uneasy and sometimes
get the blues a thinking about you
and how I would liketo be home
with you but we are many miles
apart but not so far but what we
can corespond and hear from
each other once a week when we
are well and able to write which
I hope we may be in the future,
How does little Fred get along I suppose
if he is well he eats as much pie
as ever and sometimes helps himself
to it good on his head I guess he
knows where to find it as well as
his father use to Elisha Wright and
Daniel Smith went over to the 26th
yesterday afternoon and came back
to day said that the boys were
all well
F tell Frank that Smith
took supper with Hatson and Thomas
Watson is all right he is a coming over
to see me next week we
always have a good visit
talking about home and friends
and what has happened and what
we hope will happen if we
live to get out of this show
Chalkley. Chace came back last
Tuesday I suppose that he is a
married man Smith did not
learn what his wifes name was
but thinks that she lived up
towards Fowlerville, Mrs Smith
sent her husband a nice cake
of Shugar he thinks as much
of it as he would of so much gold
and would not I if I could have
something from home, Julia I
hope that you have got that
last Certificate before this time
for it is time that you had some
benefit from that relief fund
and you must try and get an
order of ten dollars for they gave
for Hilsons wife two orders of ten
dollars last Spring when she was
left as you are and I think that
you oughto have the same you
must try and get your Father to
see to it for you for he will know
how to stur them up if you have not
received that last certificate send
me word as soon as you can and I
will try and get another from the
Captain and send you now Julia
you must stick for an order of ten
dollars for I think that you have as
good a right as others it is getting
late and I shall haveto close
by sending my best respects to
Frank and Harriett and all of the
friends so good after noon Julia
for this time from your husband
