Dear Friend Elisa Fisher
I received youre kind and welcom
letter yester Day & your likeness &
Glad was I indeed I looks tip top
all those that saw them said they looked
good I think so I am a fraid that
I shal loose them I hope to live to take
them and I home Well Elisa I went throug
some danger sence I herd from you
But the good lord saw it fit to spare
my life yet we had hard time for the
last 4

know what we went through & it tis
as well but all our Boys ar all right
yet the Michigan 17 & 24 got her the 17
is with us I saw Cpt Buros to day
we sent much time to write for we
dont lay over more then one night in
one place I hop that this will soon
Be over one way or the
other we got licked lik fun
thay drove us on this sid of the
potomac & there one hundread thousand
of the crossed one in may er have

cant do nothing
