Duncan McBain, of Barry County, Michigan, enlisted as a Private in the 8th Michigan Infantry Company F on September 16, 1861 at Prairieville, Michigan. He was mustered into service at the age of 26 on September 23. On December 29, 1863, McBain was promoted to Sergeant. He was listed as being wounded on June 30, 1864 at Petersburg, Virginia. On March 24, 1865, McBain was at Harper Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Duncan McBain was discharged from service on June 20, 1865 at Detroit, Michigan.Documents for this Author:
