Dear Sister
as I have not wrote in some
time I thought I would write
a few times to let you know
how I get along down south
the boys are all well and most
all of them Love gone out on a
five days scout but I thought
I would not go this time
for I just came in from guard
our company has been out to
guard a Correlle two miles from
here and was orderd in to go on
a scout and Mitchell wanted
me to tell you that he did not
have time to write this time but
he would as soon as he got
back Jane there is no news
to write for I want you to kiss
little Trudy for me but I
[ ? ] she gets enough kisses
every day you must take good
care of let ring until I get
home I have wrote once since
you have but I thought I
would write again and see
if you got this leter there
is but litle use of writing if
the you do not get them but I
think it will not be a great while
before we will not have to write
for there is some hopes of whiping
the the south yet for they are
all most played out now
I wrote to mother to send
me a pair of gloves by Pary
Harvy and I think they
will come prety good for
it is some cold here now
