this time quicker than we ever went through before

and did not get of the train till 10 oclock this
morning when we marched oute here with the
rest of the Brigade we will probaly stay here
4 or 5 Days we are on our way to Easport Miss
and if the weather holds fine we will have a
plesent trip. we had 3 men killed they fell of the
train and were instily killed we never came through
between Stevenson & Nashville before in the day time
before I never saw such a rocky place in my life
there is a tunnel that took us 10 minote to run
through I never was in such a dark place before
I hope this is the last time we will go over
the Charlston & Memphes R. R. this makes 4 times
that we have traveled over it I hated to leave
our Camp at Huntsville for we had just got it
finished. we are campetd where Thomas had the
fight with hood we can see the efects of it
here very plane there is trees here 3 ft in diameter
that are split all to pieces with artillery
and eny quanty of Dead horses laying all around
I think some think is on foot for Gen Thomas
is here.
I received the mony you sent me all
right I got it this morning but the box has
not got here yet but I think it will be here
before we leave but I wont have anything
now for we wont stay long in a place and it
is not safe to have any think sent.
The best way to send is By Mail. I Bought me
a pair of boots here for I thought we might
leave before I get my Box boots are as cheap
here as they are in Pontiac.
