Dear Father Mother brothers and sisters and friends we are all well and hope that thes few linds will find you in the same helth I got a letter from you las night daet the 18 of feb staten that you had sent us a box we got the box yesday noon I was never so thankful in my life to get so menny thing from home it poot me in thout whar ever thing came from the apples poot me in mind of the old apple tree in the North orthed tell Eugene Woodward that I thank him for popcorn that he sent me and John and Charley [ ? ] ever thing that you sent us was good the boys is out on drill now and I think by the [ ? ] that thay are maken sum Char- ges the report is that the 17th is at Hamp nelson about 18ten miles from her but I dont know [ ? ] and I thinks sum of giting a pas and go down thar in A day or too tell [ ? ] McConll that Nat is going to wright to him in A few days I was on Gard yes- terday so I dont hafto drill to day what is Thaddes A Dowing this winter he has not rote to me since I have inlistid tell him that I have riting him three letters since I have inlistid but now anter to them I ges that he has forget how to wright but if he dont rite to me you see that I will com down and not wright to him only about once in six munth then I will wright him agood one to tell Mrs Goodrich that Aaron has not got his box yet but expect it ever day william got a letter from Em yesterday shee was well I suppose that that Beff that you sent me was dun of old Cherry wasent it do folks think that the war is most over around thar well I am A frade that sum of them folks will smell gunpowder yet befor the war is over. For I dont think that the war will be over with in a year enny how It is fun to her the boys howler when thay Charge Maron was out on drill yesterday and our Co. made a Charge and his hours thout that thay was a race a hed so he sprang into it and run up to camp be fore he cood stop him I will wright sum to Thaddes once [ ? ] in this letter I must stop for this time wright soon From you sun Augustus Fleming Co H 11 Michigan Cavalry Camp Ellis Bishop Lexington Ky
