My Dear Wife
I have not much news to day but as it
is sunday I thought I would write
a few lines. I wrote the 26 onely
two days ago. I am well + hope
you + Allie are well + all of the rest
of the folks all so.
Lucy we have had quite a time
our old Colonel Ennis that went
out last fall was here + mad a
speech + Colonel Yhates our pres
ent Colonel + sum of our other
Officers mad speeches + our band
was out + we had a nice time
it would do you good to here the
boys heere them + see their
hats flie when they reered them
our Colonel said he thought we
would be home in a few short
weeks he should do all he could
to get as thare.
Our band is a brass band +
it has ben with the reg every
since I have ben out thare is 15
players 12 horns 2 drums + one
I dont no what to call it unles it is
two tin pans but it makes no
difference they play well.
Our pay master is in washington
I think we shall get sum pay
soon. I hope so + our discharge
all so + I guess we shall in a
few weeks.
Well my dear I have writen all
I think of now I hope to get a letter
from you soon write often + I will
do the same.
Tel Allie Pa wants to see him
+ have a play with him + thinks
he will soon.
