E. who have distinguished themselves by meritorious and gallant conduct I can heartily recommend to your most favorable notice 1st Sergt. Wm. H. Fisher who is always prompt and efficient in the discharge of his duty and was by his coolness and bravery at the battle of Gettysburg enabled to render much assistance in leading the Company into the charge and afterwards in rallying it.
