About the Author
Henry W. Granger was born on April 4, 1823 in Champion, New York. He enlisted in the New York Lincoln Cavalry as a 1st Lieutenant on August 21, 1861 at Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was mustered into service that same day at the age of 38. Granger was discharged for promotion on December 19, 1862 at Washington, D.C. On December 20, he was promoted to Major and transferred to the 7th Michigan Cavalry. Henry W. Granger died at Yellow Tavern, Virginia on May 11, 1864.Documents for this Author:
