Residing in Lenawee County, Michigan, Private William I. Frost enlisted in the 1st Michigan Infantry Company G on August 10, 1861 at Adrian, Michigan. He was mustered into service on August 24 at the age of 18 and was later promoted to Sergeant. On July 2, 1863, Frost was wounded at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. William I.
