About the Author
Residing in Ostego, Wisconsin at the start of the war, Hugh M. Dunning enlisted in the 6th Wisconsin Infantry Company D as a Private on June 10, 1861. He was mustered into service that same day. Hugh M. Dunning died on August 30, 1862 at the Second Battle of Bull Run in Virginia.Documents for this Author:
