My Dear
I thought I would
not write until I heard from
you but we shall go for
Washington Tuesday next and
I suppose you do not get
your mail but once a week
consequently I write you at this
time we are all well
and enjoying ourselves verry
well we get our uniforms
next Monday. I send you
my certificate and if the
supervisor will not help
you can make him we
will not get paid until
we get to Washington
you need not write
until you hear from
me again while writing
this soon on the Ferg
Boat going up to Detroit
a lot of the boys have got
passed to go up to the site
we are to be back by four
s clock it is pretty hard
work to drill about 7 hours
each day we have to be
up at 5 oclock and be
in bed by 9 PM
did you have a lonesome
side home that evening
how sorry I was shot I
could not go with you
but I will not talk
of such things but
keep in good spirits
I will write again before
leaveing there the boat
has just landed and
I will close I wish I
could send you and
Paul kisses
In haste Jim
