Know ye, That Joseph B. Slack a
2d Lieutenant of Captain Edward Hill
Company, (“K”) 16” Regiment of Michigan Infty. Veteran
Volunteers who was enrolled on the Thirteenth day of August
one thousand eight hundred and sixty one to serve Three years or
during the war, is hereby Discharged from the service of the United States,
this Eighth day of September, 1864, at near Petersburg
Virginia by reason of Expiration of term of service
(No objection to his being re=enlisted is known to exist.*)
Said 2d Lieut Joseph B. Slack was born in Erie Co.
in the State of New York, is 28 years of age,
five feet 5 ¾ inches high, Dark complexion, Grey eyes,
Dark hair, and by occupation, when enrolled, a Wagon maker
