Proceedings in the case of Pvt. James M. Smith Co A This Regt. investigated this day by Maj. John B. Keenan
Charge – Disobedience of orders in refusing to go on Picket duty when regularly detailed at Cabletts Station Nov. 6, 1863
Plea – not Guilty –
Finding – after a thorough investigation of this case I am of opinion that Pvt. James M. Smith is guilty of the charge brought against him and order
that
Sentence – That in addition to his regular duties, he perform 30 days extra police duty and that upon such days, there shall be no such duty to perform, he shall carry a log weighing 20 pounds in front of the camp for 2 hours each day.

Charge – Firing his musket in camp, contrary to orders
Plea – Guilty
Finding – after a thorough investigation of this I am of opinion that Pvt. Jonathan Confer
Co. B. is guilty of the charge brought against and order
Sentence –
That in addition to his regular duties he perform
111 days extra police duty.
