Wall my Dear wife as i am
yet a lived and on prain
ground with all of my friends
hear i thought i would rite
a few lines to you to let you
know that i am well as
usual but i dont feel quite
as well to day as i have ben
but i will be all rite in a
few dais a gain so i
wish these few lines will
find you the same and
beter than i am to day
Wall we are hear yet when
i wrote to you before we was
ordard to go to the Gap
but we did not
Wall Sina the boys are all
sick hear a bout all they eat
so mutch green corn i eat
some i think that is what
makes me feel worse to
day Sina the Captin is a
goin to start for home next
monday to stay for a week
or to then he is coming back
munt and asa buck time
is out to day they will find
the Captin there if they
dont come back before he
gits there some of our boys
are as tuff as bares i got so
i felt as tuff as ever but i
ant so now but i ant down
so but so i can be up round
Wall Sina take good care
of your self live hapy and
soon i will be there to
for this thing is bout done
with the papers state that
Charlestoon is ours and the
stars and strips flote over
there and if this is so we will
be to home in 2 or 3 monts
one rebel prisner come hear
last nite and he said this
was sick of it and would
not fite no more 3 of
the stats said if we would
take them in to the union
they would come back
so i cant see any thing
to ceep it any longar

makes me feel beter to eat

peaches are ripe they sufer
