Regiment: 9th Michigan Cavalry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: June the 3 1863 Covington Ky Camp Davis Wall Lucina as I have the few momants to spend I thought I write a few lines to let you know that I am well at present and hope these few lines will find you the same lucina you must not write any more until you hear from me again for we hav got marching orders to go the 8 is gon and part of the 9 is gon we are waiting for the blacksmith to shew our horses and then we will shove out for the land of Dixey the boys are all well and tuf they gay the rebls are coming to the union armey as fast as they can git away for they say they dont git pay and cloth enouf for to keep them cloth so I think the ware cant last long they say that our men has got them cornerd in at richmond and they will whip the devle out of them we have drawn our arms pistils wrifles and they are nice to I tell you the pistles shoot six times and the wrife ls the same and the wrifels have got banuts on them so you must know we are armed well for the rebles this town is ful of soldiers they all union Wall lucina we shall leve this place to morow morning for whare I dont know the Captin says the distants is about 200 miles and the journey is to be on horse back Wall lucina I wrote to letters to you I cant write any more in this camp I will write more when we camp again tell father and mother larabee that I will writ to them and I want them to keep in good chear for Dany is all write or he will be in a few days he is gon with the company tell lisa to take good care of them littles fellows and keep in good chear and you must do the same for it cant be helped so no more at pres ent good by for this time miss Lucina Wiser from A H Wiser yours truly give my love to all in kryring friends so no more [On Envelope:] Miss Lucina M Wiser Coldwater Branch Co Mich
