Brother John
as today is Sunay I thought
I would write you a few
lines to let you know that
I am well as usual and hope
these few lines may find you
all enjoying good health
I have not had a letter from
mich since the 21st of Dec
I have got tired of waiting
so I thought I would send
you a few lines: I wrote
you one letter since the
Battle Well John I want
you to see Lewis Peck
and see what he asks for that
40 acre lot up to North Branch
next to Mr Tosers: and how his
terms is I can send 25$
next pay day besides what you
want: I will give 120 dollars
for it if you cannot get it
any less: If you and him can
make a bargain and he can
give a clear title I will pay
the Ballance in 1 year at differ
ent times as our pay days dont
come regular: I you can tend
to it and he and I can make
a bargain: I will pay you
well for all your trouble
John see how cheap he will let
it go. If anything under the
above terms Then so much the
better and you do the buisiness
for me and I will pay you
well for it you must
write as soon as you get this
and can see lewis and let me
know all about it: Tell mother
I am well give her my best
wishes give my repecks to harveys
folks and Debby and lewis peck
my repects to you and Net
and write soon Tell all the
rest to write and remember
your brother
