Dear Frankie,
I received your letter of the 3rd and was very glad to hear that you are so
well. I am well. We are expecting to start ever hour so I can’t write but a little
this time. Frankie you are mistaken about Charlie Beamon he is here with us.
There has never been a chance to get a furlough but for very urgent business and
then nothing but married men and I get them very well and not longer then 15
days but none bone can get them now that we are going to march. Well Frankie
you must excuse me for I want to eat my breakfast and I don’t know whether I
can send this or not. Well Frankie I have finished my breakfast and now I will
finish my letter. Tell Willie that I got his letter last night and I will answer it as
soon as I can. Oll has gone to Acquia Creek with last of the baggage train which
went yesterday, Well Frankie I can’t write much this time but will do better next
time. So I will close by asking my dear to next time.
