Dear Friend
How ar you
by this time well I suppose
and enjoying your self highly
I suppose I am well or nearly
so and passing the time as
best I can which aint in
any particular way some times
reading stories some times
one thing and some times an
other and non rather usefull
nor very pleasant but it is
the only way I have to do
[ ? ]
I have to make the best of it
but thare is something a going to
be did now pretty soon for
the work is done and they
are returning the tools to the
post Quartermaster I think we
will go some whare next weak
and the general belief is we are
going to Michigan but some
think we will go to work on
the Rail Road but I think
we will go North I hope so
any way and we will be apt
to know before long any way
the ninth Michigan are relieved
from duty and are going home
in a few days. I don’t know
whether the tenth Cavelry has
gone home yet or not but
I guess not
I was down town town last
night to the sircus and
[ ? ]
it was pretty good what thare
was of it but thare wasent
much of it thare wasent many
animals and the riding wasent
as good as I have seen at the
rapids it was advertised for
a big thing but falls short of
the mark. it is awful
warm weather here to warm
for comfort we haven’t had any
rain since I can remember hardly
I think you must have had
a very nice time the last day
of your school notwithstanding
the rain and I would have
given a right
[ ? ] to have
been thare but fate or some
body else halled it other wise so
I could not come you must
not expect me to write as
long a letter as you did for
thare isent a particle of news
going only talk of going home
and that is all camp talk
some of our Furloughed men
got back last night they
say that it is good times up
in Michigan Sogers in every
corner, give my love to
all the family tell Harley he
had best to write to me or
I will make it lively for him
when I do get home tell Mother
not to get sick a gan this
fall for as you said it aint prudent
nor paying business write soon
from your sincere friend
George
