is all rite but he has not
had a letter for a long time
I guess his Julia has forgoton
him but you
[ ? ] tell any
tales out of school george and
I are a going to explore the
mountain so I must
close hoping you will
excuse this poor written letter
I remain as ever your friend and brother
Walter Pullman to my sister
Mrs F. A. Pullman george would not
wait until I finished my letter
so I have got back and I will give
you the details of our expidition
we took some coffee along and thought
we would get some butter and milk
we went
[ ? ] to the lake it is
[ ? ] by springs on the top of
the mountain and runs down through
a small hallow in the mountain
about 20 rods from the lake the water
falls about one hundred feet and
strikes on a flat rock it is as
prety a site as niagra falls
when the sun shines you can
stand on a cliff and see a beautiful
rain bow it is a beautiful site
to see from the lake we went
about a mile and came to a clearing
in on corner of it stood a log house
we went in and saw an old woman
with the tobacco juice runing down
each corner of her mouth and snuff
a droping from her nose we asked
her if she had any butter to
traid for coffee she said she had
no butter but she had some milk
so we got our canteens filed
and then we asked her if she would
sell us some onions they had some
nice ones in the gardain so we went
out and cook told her he would
hilp her pull some he told
her to whisle when he got ten
cents worth so he pulled all
he could hold in his arm and
she could not whistle then we
started for camp and got to
camp at one oclock
tired and hungry
I must stop so good
