Regiment: 13th Michigan Infantry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Camp Hillsboro Penn Augest the 12th 63 Dear Sister I received your kind and welcome letter the 10th of Augest and was varey glad to hear from you and glad to hear that you was so well your letter found me as well as could be expected it is very warm here and we have plenty of duty to do I have not hurd from Park or harvey for fore weeks and I donot know what to think about it Maggie I am very sorey that you have not go those pictures the man that I sent them by was first Lieutenant in the 2 Mich. Infan. and he had [ ? ] he lived in Kalamazoo and was a quainted with the Brigs he came to the hospital to see some of the boys that belonged to his Co and they said that he was a good fellow and I thought that I would send it by   by him and I paid him for the postage from kalamazoo to Allegan I do not know what good it would be for him to keep it if I new his name I would Publish him in the papers I would sent it by male but one glass got broken when it was sent from Nashville to Louisville and the case bruised some to and I hought if I could send it by any body I would do it but I am sory that I did not sent it by male but it can not be helped you said that hat was a going to get maried and you said that you was glad of it but you said that you thought that I would not be Oh yes I am very glad of it it is the least of my troubles but I hope that the [ ? ] will take [ ? ] the miserable coward yes I am glad she is a going to get maried and I hope that al lthe rest of the old maids will get maried before I get home so they will not be any body to tell yarns about the neighborhood well this will do about the old maids I wrote to you the other day and said that we was a going to march well we have not marched yet but expect to go everyday I must close hopeing that this will find you well I remain as ever your brother Walter Pullman to my sister Mrs P. A. Pullman write soon and oblige your brother if you see hat tell her that I wish her a safe journay good by
