Dear Mother
I take this
opportunity to inform you
that we are a going to
leave here on wensday
next the report is that
we shall go to Kentucky
but I dont know for certain
whether we shall or not I
am in a hurry this morning
for I have got to go on
guard in a little while
I wrote to father this morning
so he could meet us in De-
troit I have writen to him
twice since he has been
in Detroit we get our un-
iform to day the boys are
well and are anxious to go
there was a sampeed here
last night among the
men they had a great time
they came pretty near tearing
down the dinning hall
one of the Captains drew his
sword and that frightens
the whole of them 2 or 3 went
to the guard house one
went down to the city to
the jail give my love
to all Good bye
