Dear Cousin
I recieved your letter to
day and was glad to hear from you
I am and to hear that you as all well
in ar heatfield I am in sack in sack yetwe
are under marching orders now and we
dont know when we shall leave here
and I dont care eather for we are a haveing
a good time heare now we have plenty to eat
and plenty to drink and to ware and that
is all that we want while we are a soldier
I had a good time
[ ? ] the Captain
got up a big dinner and I eat with him
we had pie and cake and oysters and baked
Chickens fride cakes apple
[ ? ] and plenty of
every thing that I spoke of we have had a
good time as any one had to
[ ? ] I cant
write you a very long letter this time

here I think that you dont write to me very often
