Regiment: 7th Michigan Infantry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Sodus April 9th 1865 Dear Neace your kind letter came to hand some time ago and was read with much intrest and I wish you to pardon my negligence in not writeing sooner I asure you that it is not because we have forgoten you or lost all love and respects by being seperated so long by time and distance we are all in usual heath except your Ant [ ? ] her helth is quite poor and has bin for some time I belive all the rest of the folks that you know are all well their has bin a good meny deaths in the past few years of old people & some yung you have probely heard of them by friends in in this place this afful war to that has bin the cause of so meny Hopes and fears with us heare as well as with you has made meny changes but I hope and think so to that it is just about closed up with out dont you think so to and if george took part in the last grate Battles I hope that he is all wright and sond for in all probility he will be safe soon to return home as such that you may have now special head of your marage sertificate I will her say that Wm Tillistson has moved soth but I have made inquires of his Brother and I think I can get it for you If i can I will let you know soon we have had a draft in ower place we ware all quite lucky in this section 2 drawn in this district Mar Gaffielet James Brower I gess you you do not know them we have had a very hard winter stediy cold with deap snow but the spring has come off very fine and warme how we hear that guy has enlisted we should like to now whi he did and how much Bounty he got and we wold like to no the perticlurs of our famely how meny chirlden and how large and if you realy like that state as well to live in as you did York state If you are posted I would like to know how improved farms are selling I sopose you have heard that Henry Clow lost their two yungest Boys little over a year ago Laura Clow is marred and has got a heir Richard Famely are well at present it is fiting late and I must close pereis sends her Best Respects to you and your mother and me all join her in the same and wish we cold see you all one more I hope you will not patton after me But write soon Isaac Andrews To M J Phelps
