Dear Friend
Kate I will
now try to answer your
letter of the 14
th which I
received this morning and
was glad to hear from
you it has binn some time
since I have had any letter
from any one well Kate
I am no more in Capt
Thompson Co. I have binn
detatched from the Reg to
the Briggade for Provose
guard we expect to go to
the front before long there is
quite a small Co of
boys here so that we have
good times and not very hard
times I have seen more
girls to day than I have
before
[ ? ] I left their
there is one or two on our
Rout where we patrols and
they are as good on horseback
as olive for I saw one riding
last night I was over
to the Seventh yesterday and
george Sayl les go home he
is in a good place now
I if I was in there I would
never go home till I
got redy and that
am
would be
all a long time
for I lik old V.A. beter
than I did Washington
there is going to a great
deal of fruit here
but I dont think we
shall plant much corn
here as we dont eat that
but the reason is that we cant
get it and that is a mong
Ream and Fred is well
I saw Johny the other day
he is well and he said that
the old woman was the last
that he heard from her
I dont like the plan of
him calling her old for she
hant well Kate I want
write any more this
time as it is geting warm
and you cant read more than
half of this.
