Regiment: 6th Michigan Cavalry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Washington Jan 19 1863 [Image of lady] Dear friend Kate I am agoing to send Louisa a letter in your name and you can guess what it is for and I thought that you wouldnt like a letter there was something for you in it and I thought that I would like to see you or hear from you every day but it hant to be so just know I used to think that from one sunday to another was along time last sumer when you was in the shop but I will hlfto wait longer here but time passes faster here than it does at home or at some times when I was with you it pased of faster then I wanted it to maybe it was diferent with you this I wont call any letter and I dont want you to take patern after it for you wrote one small letter and you can aford to write two for that talk about knot knowing what to wright I can think of more than I wanto for I always write more than I aughto for it is so poor that they cant any one read it but what they cant read they wont know Please hand this letter to Louisa and write son and often Good bye well Kate I have just got some pictures and I am going to send two one to of them to you and I want you to write and tell me if you get them or not and I am going to send them at home some to they are not very nice but they will do to look at when any one is alone but this will do for this time so good bye From your friend Samuel D Mills To Catharine you shant what               Hamilton now tell me if you dont I dont understand what that means yet and I want you to say [On Envelope:] Miss Kate Hamilton Grand Rapids Michigan
