Hamilton I thought that
I would wright you A few lines
to let you know what A nice
ride we had Coming over the
Aligana mountains we folowed the
Junietta River about fifty miles
and then we came to the
susquehanah and we folowed that about
as far as we did the other and
it is the niceest River I ever
crost
crosed we are now with in A little
wase of the Capital it is nice
plase but give me Gand Rapids
for a good looking girls
we are going in the same Camp
with the fifth they came
two day before we did
I havnt seen william Beckwith
yet but I was talking with
A boy in his company he
said that he was clerk
they are having some hard fighting
to do about forty miles from
here there was to Generals killed
yesterday and buried to day.
the if we hadnt started wednesday
we would had to stay there all
winter and here it is a warm as
summer. tell Sarah that John
is awful sorry that he didnt
go up there befor we left the state
he would like to have them folks
that lives with you down here
he thinks he wouldnt be afraid
of them now I told him that
was just my
fi fit
but I must stop afore long fore
this makes second letters this morning
and no place to write except
on the flore and A thousand
men all around you making
all the nois they could
but I will mak as much
as they can when I get
through wighting
