Well
Julia it is Saturday afternoon
and time that I let you know
where I was and how I was
I am well and hope this

find you and Fred better then
you were when I left we had
a pleasant time a getting here
and it is pleasant here and
nothing to do and plenty to
eat tonight George Elliott
myself and some of the Howell
Boys have gotto go on guard
wont that be good for us we
need alittle exersise and probably
we will get it soon I want
you and Florance to write as
soon as you get this I want
Florance to write and tell me
how Hiram gets along
it rained last night
and it has rained some
today but I hope it wont
to night but we are onley
on two hours and off four and
I am good for that

sheep a little and have pa
salt them once a week when
the ground is bare and
have him chop that wood
