Dundee August The 3ird in 1862 Dear Mothr & friends in [ ? ] I has ben a gong time Sine I [ ? ] or wrote you a letter & with the request of my brother luke I will wright you a few lines informing you I am well at presant & desire those lines to find you the same luke at present is well he has Laid sick in the hosspitel 2 months previous to that he was in a verry Hard battel of two days duration you hav probly seen the account of it I was the battle of pittsburg landing But did not get a scratch you must not lay up Every hardness for I dont Tell [ ? ] false that I am well tell granpa I think as mutch of him as I ever did & all the rest I am going to wright to him if you want to wright to luke Direct pittsburg landing no in this way Pvt Luke Libby 15th Michigan Infentry Company K Pittsburg Landing Tennessee 3 page It is dark as you will see By my writing I should like to Hav you wright to me Ell is well all of us O I forgot Mrs. Maraneter Libbey is well at present good by
