Dear sister it has
been a week since I have
written to you and we are
all well I beleive at present
but frank wells but he is
getting along firstrate he is
in the hospittle I got a
letter from Edwin last sunday
they are all well he says he
is going to write to you
before long Ike has wrote one
letter home but he says that he
wont write any more untill
the war is over well Mariett
we have some good old times down
in
[ ? ] but it wasent much
fun to stand guard last night
for it was cold enough to
to
[ ? ] a fellow I stood
guard from 8 oclock till 11 last
night for the first time and
when I was releived it seemed
like coming home from spelling
school and setting down by
the fireplace we have got a nice
little fireplace in our tent but I
noticed that I dident have any
bread and milk well I guess
if you have heard enough about
that but then I woulden
mind takeing a bowlful we are
out to work most every day
but we dont work very hard
I had a letter from John
Marshall last night he said that he
had went home with Gusta Fields
twise I dont think any more of
her for that he wrote that M

lige was sick I hope he will
recover he saied that mary was
going to start for Louises wednesday
he dident say anything our folks
so I suppose you are all well
George and Theodore are writing
so I must come to a close for
it is, ½ past 9 oclock and I
attire for this time good
