Holton, 141 North Ave.,                                                                Treasury Department, Battle Creek, Mich.                                         OFFICE OF AUDITOR FOR THE WAR DEPARTMENT, Pennebaker & Jones,                                                     Washington, D.C., Washington, D.C. July 14, 1909. The claim for pay, travel pay, bounty and allowences of Samuel M. Holton as Pvt. Corop., Asst. Surg. & Surg. 2nd Mich. Inf. has been examined and DISALLOWED by Certificate No. 371250 dated July 13, 1909, for the following-names resons, viz: He has been paid as Asst. Surg. from Sept. 13/64, the earliest date from which entitled to pay as shown by the records and as Surg. from Mch. 12/65, including travel allowances and 3 months extra pay Act Mch. 3/65. He is now entitled to pay as Surg. for Mch. 11/65 date of rank in his commission and to other small credits, including tax on remuster pay charged in settlement of 1896, but was overpaid to Jan. 30/61 an amount which is in excess of said credits. All other items of his account were disposed of by settlement of 1896. No further pay or allowances due under Act of Mch. 4/07 Two commissions returned to claimant. Respectfully, E. P. SEEDS.
