Regiment: 3rd Michigan Cavalry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Tenn Camp at Lagrange July the 28 Dear Friends as I have just come off from picket I thought I would write I should have wrote before but have been on picket every other day for three weeks and a fellow comes off from picket and he does not feel like writing much after being up all night. There is not much new but what there is favorable to us. I got you leter day before yesterday and was glad enough to hear from home Pa I should like to be there to ride Tiss for I think I could if any of them could without braging much but I can after I get home from the war There is some talk of enlisting men for three years to go to Utah and they get one hundred dollars bounty and have one month to go home but they can go it for ten years if they want to but I shant go it only until I can get out John Bonesteel got a leter from Caroline today and she wrote that you was going to send the box in the stage tuesday and I will go over to the express office and see if has come after I get this wrote dave says he has not got a letter from home in 4 weeks but he gets some from Lawrence I guess you must excuse bad spelling and writing for I am somewhat sleepy so good bye from Ed
