Dear Brother & Sister
I received your
a few hours a go was very glad
to hear from you a gain I
medling tough again now
have got nearly over the
jaundice but my throat
is same sore I have
got a big
[ ? ]
plaster on my throat
and chest to day and
it is some better I
keep it raped up in a
flanel clothe wet in
campor I think it
will be well in a day
or two I think we
will start for Washin
ton
tomorrow but may not
we have one man very
sick with the Typoid
fever in this ward the
Dr thinks he is some
better had got his fever
broke I have set up with
him three knights there
is a number wounded
but none very bad
I have not got any
news to write only
the boys had quited
time at dismounted
camp the officers put
on a good many airs
and made the boys
drill twice a day and
they thought it was
not nesssary so they
did not come out
to drill at all and
the officers Col of a Pennsy
lvany regment was in
command of our division
they did not like him
so they bothered him
all they could they at
last went at the sutlers
they have down their
tents and scattered his
machandise in every
direction a Lieutenant
shot a man and killed
him and in less than
one minit he had five
balls through him
they were both buried
in one grave I guess they
were both to blame
my reg was on guard
that night garding
the Sutlers they would
not fire on the boys
when they come
[ ? ]the
Col in com was there
and ordered them to fire
and at the same time
fired his revolver at one
of the boys hit him but
did not hurt him much
some one hit him with
a club and knocked him
off his horse and chased
him in to the woods
